Answer can be found on Keta’s website.

Welcome to my blog Keta!
Thanks for having me.
I’d like to congratulate you on your book, Decadent Deceptions, finaling in the Molly Contest! Can you tell us a little about this book?
Decadent Deceptions was really fun to write. For one thing, it afforded me the opportunity research brothels in the 1800’s (quite a trip!). Morgan and Olivia have been at crossroads for the past ten years. Their passion has run deep, ever since he compromised her in her mother’s garden a decade ago. Their rendezvous was interrupted just in the nick of time and what followed was a stern admonition from Olivia’s father that if Morgan ever set eyes on her again, Thaddeus would meet him over pistols. Morgan excels at duels, not to mention he’s a notorious rake. But now, Thaddeus is dead, and Morgan has no intention of staying away from the woman of his every fantasy. Neither is aware of the feelings the other has, and so they engage in a series of events to garner the other’s attention. The game is on . . . a dangerous game that leads them down a path of duplicity, mayhem and murder.
Do you plot out your stories first or do you let the characters lead you?
I’m what we call a “punster” in the writing arena. I plot the story out in my head for months, every scene, every conversation until I know my characters back and forth. I know how they think, how they would react under certain scenarios. Then I sit down to write, and not always at Chapter One. I might start with a scene that ends up in the middle of the book. I know, it’s unconventional, but it works for me. I’ve tried outlines, note cards, and my muse shuts down when she has to stick to a rigid format.
What are you currently working on?
Whew! It makes me tired just thinking of it. The sequel to my erotic fantasy, Dust and Moonlight. Dust and Starlight will be released by Siren Publishing in May. A novella sequel for Crossroads, to be released by Phaze books in March, followed up by Crossroads Revisited in May. And then I’ve started a full-length novel (think Civil War where spies on opposite sides fall in love). I’m always working on short stories and novellas to keep my publisher’s happy. I write for Ravenous Romance, Noble Romance, Phaze Books and Siren Publishing.
What genre(s) can we look forward to from you?
My true love is historical and now I’ve ventured into fantasy with Dust and Moonlight. I also write paranormal. About the only thing I don’t write much of is Chick-Lit or Contemporary.
Describe a day in the life of Keta Diablo.
People think we drive around in limos and eat chocolate all day. Hah! This couldn’t be farther form the truth. Most days will find me at the computer, most like in my jammies with my cat playing my with computer mouse (maybe she thinks it’s a real one) and a dog curled up at me feet.
Favorites…
Writing first, then soy candles, scented bath salts, BOOKS, reading, flowers, and of course, my family and not necessarily in order above.
Favorite Season?
Most definitely summer. I live by hundreds of lakes, in fact, we have an environmental lake on our property and love to commune with the owls, eagles and loons. There’s nothing like the cry of a loon in the middle of the night. Very peaceful, tranquil.
Morning person or night owl?
Night owl, most definitely, like a lot of writers. My muse likes this schedule, although sometimes it’s a killer for me. In the winter, I don’t mind her schedule, but I dislike sleeping during the day when I can be out gardening.
Favorite movie?
The Last Samurai, Man On Fire, Legends of the Fall, Kingdom of Heaven, The Missing, Cold Mountain. Except for Man On Fire, can we say “History”?
Favorite song?
Anything by Chris Isaak, ABBA, but my all time favorite song and singer is Answer by Sara McLachlan. Breathtakingly beautiful.
Favorite color?
Black, neon pink, purple. I’m not fond of white (this would include SNOW).
Fun Questions…
If you had a shrinking device, what’s the one thing in your house you’d miniaturize first?
My daughter’s 90 pound Golden Lab, Miss Abby, whom I have the great honor of entertaining (layman’s terms: dog sitting) every time they go on vacation (about six times a year). Miss Abby has a crush on me and insists on sleeping in me bed. Imagine it, a 90 pound half-cow-half-canine who hogs my pillow.
If a movie was made about your life, who would you like to see play the lead role as you?
Scarlett O’Hara (Vivian Leigh). She was an amazing character and actor. I challenge anyone to watch her myriad facial expression in Gone With The Wind and then duplicate them! She can lift an eyebrow and bring the strongest of heart to their knees.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Happy Paralegal Loses Mind and Decides to Become a Romance Writer.
Instead of leaves or money, what do you wish would grow on trees?
Little candy-colored vellum notes that say, “Harm None.”
If you had to smell like one thing for the rest of your life, what scent would you pick?
White tea rose mixed with jasmine oil – the same scent Olivia wears in Decadent Deceptions. Absolutely seductive!
Keta, thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview with me!

Keta, Loved your website! Great interview as well. I have a sneaking suspision that you’d miss having that great big dog hogging the bed. Sounds more like one of those enduring irritants.
