I finally got to the point where I would just say no and risk getting myself into trouble. It made me extremely uncomfortable especially when the child clearly did not want to have it done. I do not know why parents force this on their children. My youngest daughter got her ears pierced at ten but she was much like your daughter and asked me everytime we went to Wal-Mart. So my oldest daughter took her to get them pierced for tenth birthday. I just really don't get it. Big time. It's not right to force your kids to do anything like that just because you want them to (little kids in beauty contests, that stupid "I know my kids a star" show come to mind). Although I kind of have mixed feelings on it because I had my ears done when I was three months old, and so has my niece and a friend's baby. They have numbing cream for it, and according to everyone none of us cried. If I have a daughter I'll probably get hers done too.
