Mother’s Day and More

I hope all of the Mama’s that read my blog had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
I really tried to have a great day for my kids. After church we went to town and did a little shopping and then I took them out to supper at their favorite restaurant. There was one problem…their favorite was also Mama’s favorite. The one we took her to every year for Mother’s Day. Needless to say I cried while we were there, and my girls, being the awesome kids they are, hugged me and told me everything would be ok.
I wanted to update on the situation I blogged about below. I took my daughter to the doctor this morning. The Pediatrician gave me a prescription for Prevacid (for her stomach) and took some blood to run other tests. I should know the results Thursday…Friday at the latest.
They are making her an appointment at the children’s hospital for her to have a test done to check for Vesicoureteral reflux.
I did talk to the Vice Principal today and I also talked to the teacher gave them the time-line project. I was very nice (what? I’m always nice! :p ) and explained to the Vice Principal that I understood about giving checks for going to the restroom several times. I DO understand that kids have/and will abuse this. But when it gets to the point of her getting the 3 checks in one week (and that equals detention), I won’t be honoring the detention since the reason for her going to the restroom IS a medical condition.
This lady looks at me like I’d lost my mind. Then says, “The check system is used for discipline only and the teachers shouldn’t be using it for those going to the restroom.”
Ooooops. Guess the cat’s out of the bag now. Anyway…we talk some more and get everything worked out.
Then I go talk to the teacher. We get all of that straightened out (she was very nice too) and now she’s working on the next project that is due this Friday.
Now if I can just keep myself from worrying over those tests she needs to have done at the hospital…..

Uh oh! At least we don’t live in the same state - or god forbid - the same county! The school system would ban us both! I am not quite sure that my school system is ready for me! LOL! You go Mama!
