Friends

Friends come and friends go, but true friends? They’ll stick by you and be there for you no matter what.

I lost half of my world (the other half being my kids and husband) in March…my mom. It was hard, it was devastating and it was unexpected. She was in ICU for 2 weeks before she passed, and those 2 weeks were damn hard. The weeks since she’s been gone haven’t been any easier. I don’t know what I would’ve done without Susan and Jaymi. Friends that I met online 6 years ago…all three of us live in different states. Aside from my kids, husband, brother, sister…etc., those 2 ladies kept me sane and I can’t thank them enough.

Susan hopped a plane and came to my house last Friday and spent the whole weekend with me and my family. It was wonderful. We talked, laughed, shopped…and I felt “normal” again. I was able to “forget” for a little while. Then Monday morning rolled around and she had to go home. I was ok until later that morning, and then reality came crashing back down on me…Mama was still gone and now Susan wasn’t there to help me forget. Needless to say, Monday wasn’t a good day.

Not many people would do that. Friendship is easy to “claim” until the chips are down. This is one lady that I am proud to be able to call my friend and I guess I’ll always wish that we lived closer together. At least in the same state if nothing else. LOL
