Being Difficult

Sadly, that’s me. It seems like with everything I do, some kind of problem pops up and causes the (what should be) easiest thing(s) to become difficult.
My latest endeavor is Veneers. I’ve wanted my teeth fixed for a looooooooooong time. So I started the process on January 24th.
I knew there would be some sensitivity while wearing the temporaries. I was even expecting to have 2 (possibly 3) root canals. I also knew I’d have problems with pain because of the TMJ issues I already deal with on a daily basis. When all was said and done after that first visit, I didn’t have any root canals done and instead of sensitivity I had MAJOR pain in my jaws AND teeth…and ears. Hmmmm.
I’m a tooth grinder (the main reason for my TMJ issues), so 2 days later (on a Saturday when they were closed), I had to call my dentist at home and he met me at his office to replace one of the temps. I had popped off during the night from grinding my teeth. :rolleyes
Between one child having strep throat and the other getting the flu, I knew I was in the line of fire. A few days ago my throat started getting sore, then I had a ringing in my ears and they kinda ached. Friday morning I went to the doctor because my ears hurt BAD. She said I had a sinus infection and fluid on my ears. She looked in my ears and said the right one was bulging. Ouch.
I also had a dentist appointment for Friday afternoon. He went ahead and put my permanent veneers on the bottom, so that took a couple of hours…with my mouth open. Yeah, TMJ issues indeed. Not only that, but my ears felt like they were going to explode. Major pain. I’ve had 2 kids, but I do believe that the pain I was in Friday night with my mouth, jaws and ears ran a close 2nd to labor pains.
Here I am, two days later with 2 teeth on the bottom that still hurt every now and then, so will possibly have to have those root canals anyway. I’m not happy about that, but anything to stop the pain.
I had said at one time in the past couple of weeks that I regret doing this, but I don’t. They look too good to have regret. I just wish all these other things hadn’t popped up while in the process of fixing my teeth. LOL I also don’t want to be hurting when we go to Disney World next month. I realize that yes, it IS a MONTH away, but hell, look at all the other things that have happened that I didn’t expect. :rolleyes
As the saying goes, “Bad beginnings make for good endings”, or something like that. :shrug I hope that’s true. :pray
