Hmmm…

I just read a book tonight it got me to thinking, which is always dangerous.

First of all, I read to escape reality. If I wanted something to be true to life — I’d pick up a newspaper.

No condom use in a book is not a major thing for me. If they don’t use one, ok - whatever. No biggie. If they do use one, ok - whatever. No biggie.

Cheating is, usually, a MAJOR NO-NO. Usually. Even in a book. I think cheaters are low-life scum and, as I told a friend, that is putting it nicely. I can’t imagine why or how anyone would or could do that to another person. Especially a person you claim to love, care about, have feelings for….whatever. There is absolutely NO excuse for that. None whatsoever. And I firmly believe Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater. They can’t (and shouldn’t be) trusted.

But in the book I read tonight, the hero had cheated on the heroine in the past and I actually found myself wanting to smack the heroine and tell her to listen to him! Which is VERY odd for me with the way I feel about cheating and cheaters. But, in my opinion, it takes a good author to be able to pull you in like that and have you changing your opinion…even if it was for a little bit and even if it was for a fictional character. :shrug

Oh, and the book and author? Born to Run ~ (Book 2 in the Racing series) by Melanie Anderson. I highly recommend this author and this series. She’s new and she rocks.
