Let her have a 'boyfriend' at nine, try explaining why she can't at fourteen. It's got to be understood all the way coming up, that 'boyfriend' isn't ok. As a mom of four--the girls 12 and 14--it's been important that they know that dating isn't happening until they're much older. Got to be consistant.
