(Long post ahead) This Week…

has been a trying week. Trying how you ask? I’m not real sure what the deal is, but I’ve definitely been in a “mood”. I’ve had my feelings hurt, I’ve been mad and grouchy…the list is long. Oh well, that’s life.

Thursday (the 8th) was my birthday. Yay me! It was a great day. We had a birthday chat / fundraiser for Katrina Victims on Genesis Gossip. Genesis donated 10 cents for every post. We had some very generous people to contribute extra on the side and we had 2 generous people to match our post count total. Our grand total at the end of the chat was: $461.00!!!

We will be sending this money to Habitat for Humanity in Mississippi. Basically because everyone and their uncle is sending to LA, and that is GREAT! My heart just breaks for the people there that Katrina affected, but MS was hit hard as well and we wanted to send something to them.

This is also the week of our county fair. Normally I enjoy this, but this year I just get a “blah” feeling when I think of the fair. It’s a rip-off and THAT pisses me off. There is 4 of us, therefore it was $32 right off the bat to walk through the gate. Then the tickets to ride were $15 for 20 tickets. IF you bought single tickets…$1 per ticket.

The “kiddie” rides were 2 - 3 tickets per ride and the “older” rides were 3 - 4 tickets per ride. So those 20 tickets didn’t last long at all and yep…you guessed it…bought another round of 20 tickets….$30 total. Just for rides. So what are we up to now? $62 to walk in and ride…um…let’s see…little child rode 4 - 5 rides (less tickets remember) and older child rode 3 (took more tickets for her). THEN they HAD to try and win a fish. That was another $6. So that bring us to…$68. I won’t even start adding the food DH bought while we were there.

I’m not the type of person to “worry” about money. I never have been. Guess that’s the “up side” to growing up and having to watch what was spent and where. My family is VERY close and I know this is why. Whatever I got for Christmas and Birthday’s I appreciated and took care of. Do kids today do that? Let’s just say I’ll save that rant for another blog day.

Anyway…I don’t “worry” about money, but it disgusted me to no end tonight *looks at clock*…ok, last night (a few hours ago LOL)…at the fair. It’s sad that you can’t take your kids to the county fair without them ruining it for everyone by charging out the ass for everything.

On a “brighter” note. Remember the lil…uh…rooster?!? Well, the kids entered him, another rooster and 2 hens in the fair. They won second place!

Until next time…
